The Challenge
The client, a nonprofit from Michigan, sponsors, a bicycle ride, each year in memory of their brother, a US Marine, that tragically passed away in his youth. The ride, which frequently brings in dozens of riders needed to be shared with not just the local community, but potential donors outside the area as well. The foundation wanted a site that was patriotic, but that also brought the viewer in for a closer look at who Christopher Willis was as a person. Click the image to explore the site.
Uniform branding, consistent message, ease of use:
Using the popular software WordPress, we were able to create a website that was highly interactive, very easy to use, and that contain information that people would want to revisit again and again. We integrated the popular donation plug-in called "Give" and made the donation process a contest of sorts, displaying the progress of each of the riders, in the spirit of gentle competition.
The donations to the bicycle ride, which have been around $100,000 each year that they do it, all go to support the education of a child or children, who have lost their parent in the line of military duty. The original website was created in 2010 and they continue to turn to us for additions and maintenance.
